Blackout Poetry "Trying to sing has lost its flavor, to drown upon a heart the same password repeated. But I am not sure that I ever thought it would fill the pauses —to say nothing." My idea behind this is somewhat personal, it is meant to illustrate the story of a boy and a girl who think they love each other. "The same password repeated" is the phrase "I love you", which they say too often and it lacks meaning, and they sense this. However, they are afraid to not say it and afraid to not say anything because the silence would draw attention to the fact that they aren't right for each other after all. In contrast, when two people really connect, the silence is not awkward but peaceful. I blacked this poem out during a time I was experiencing something very similar.
